It has been evident to many people for centuries that cannabis has therapeutic value. Although largely anecdotal, cannabis is known to safely treat or cure such maladies as epilepsy, M.S., asthma, glaucoma, nausea, abdominal discomfort, eating disorders and depression.
The female flowers of the plant contain so many natural ingredients that, without proper research it is impossible to know exactly how beneficial the plant can be. If we know that Aspirin is derived from willow bark, and penicillin from bread mold, why is it such a stretch for cannabis to have equal or more value? One of the reasons is government's position on the plant.
With one hand they say it is a dangerous narcotic worthy of prohibition. On the other they recognize its value for medical testing. If only the brainiacs could make up their diseased minds (seems like a dose of cannabis therapy is needed).
The value of cannabis is currently being proven in Canadian courts (Crown vs. T. Parker, G. Kreiger, C. Clay, Little Sisters, etc.) using the constitution as support.
When it is all said and done, and nothing can point to the plant in a negative light, the movement for nationwide law reform confident of legal therapeutic and recreational use as a result. The real stretch of the imagination is believing law reform will involve logic and common sense, not corporate interference.
