Hemp - Marijuana Difference:
Hemp and marijuana
come from the same cannabis plant. Hemp pertains solely to the fibers
found in the center stalk of the cannabis plant. They are the longest
and strongest natural fibers in the world. The fibers can be woven
into the best wearing natural fabrics from slippery silks to rugged
canvas (word shortened from cannabis) to bulletproof vests.
The oil from the
cannabis seed (as well as the seed itself) is one of nature's best
foods, rich in omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Cellulose found in the
stalks can be used for biodegradable plastics or explosives. The
oil and discarded leaves can be pressed into environmentally friendly
bio-fuel "pucks" to be burned for energy production. The
cannabis plant has provided thousands of products (food, clothing,
medicines, fuels and lubes, building materials, paper, plastics)
for thousand of years.
Marijuana:
(a word coined by the American government to reflect a racist, anti-Mexican
sentiment), is the reproductive flowers of a female cannabis plant.
The flowers (or "buds" ) contain the highest concentrations
of T.H.C., the psychoactive ingredient known to treat or cure many
ailments.
